On July 4th, the Central Texas floods swept across our state, becoming one of the most devastating natural disasters in the state’s recent history.

Austin Pets Alive! immediately engaged in ensuring that the pets of Central Texas were looked after, looked for and kept safe.

Now on August 4th, we look back and are immensely grateful for our community and proud of the selfless and tireless efforts our staff and volunteers gave. The numbers speak for themselves; but they were only achievable because people came out to help us help pets in need.

It isn’t just disaster work that took place this month. Our mission has always been to ensure that pets at risk have a safe harbor. So while the community answered the plea for help due to the floods, the hearts and homes that were opened to foster or adopt, the giving of time, talents and treasure that fueled our days, meant our emergency efforts and our ongoing daily lifesaving amplified! 

These numbers can happen every month without a disaster. Thousands of animals can hear “yes,” and know love and life with this type of continued support.
