Woman Gets Spooked By Rare ‘Demon Bird’ With A Ghostly-Sounding Call
Have you ever heard of the Great Potoo? Neither did I before this story. Apparently, the bird is actually a very rare bird who is also known as the Urutaú Nictibian, or Ghost Bird. It is nocturnal, so it’s hardly ever seen during the day. Perhaps that is why one woman got quite a fright when she saw one in person. The bird, who is known for having a rather ghostly-sounding call, was sitting on a fence post. The woman mistook it for part of the wood and got scared when she saw it move. Dog Rescued After Being Found Clinging To A Branch In A Freezing Creek
Adopting a dog is always a wonderful idea. All dogs deserve to have loving and happy homes. Unfortunately, rescue dogs will often come with their challenges – mainly because they’ve never known what proper affection is. Anyone who has ever owned a rescue dog knows that there is a slight adjustment period when it comes to welcoming a rescue pooch into your home – they’re often shy and lacking confidence. And that is exactly what Cheryl Pietromicca was facing with her Boxer puppy named Gracie. The adorable little pooch...
Cats Warn Family About Blazing Apartment Fire In The Middle Of The Night
Cats often get a bad rap for being aloof. But while they may portray themselves as such, they do have a very caring side to them, which they share with their owners. And two cats, Daisy and Dexter, proved that they had their owner’s best interests at heart when they became heroes. The two cats belong to a person living in Edinburgh. The owner, who wanted to stay anonymous, lives within an apartment block that had caught fire in the middle of the night. The owner was fast asleep, but they were quickly awoken by Daisy and Dexter who raced...

Jackson and his pal saw the struggling fawn, who was about a year old, and knew immediately that they had to help. The two friends made the dangerous trek across the ice in order to help it. They risked their own safety to help the fawn get its footing on the ice,...
Young Woolly Rhino Found Perfectly Preserved In Russia
Most of us think of the melting permafrost as being a bad thing but there may just be a silver lining to that dark cloud. That was recently seen when a well-preserved woolly rhino was revealed as the permafrost melted. It had been frozen solid for so long that it’s internal organs were still mostly intact. The Siberian Times reported that the woolly rhino was found in the Yakutia region in Russia’s extreme north as the permafrost melted. It happened in August and experts feel as if it is the best-preserved specimen found as of...
Golden Retriever Has Emotional Reunion With Cow He Hasn’t Seen In Months
They sometimes say that “birds of a feather flock together” but it is also true that “opposites attract.” It’s a beautiful thing when we see it in action, such as what we see in the video below of a calf and a golden retriever puppy becoming best of friends. The TikTok video was created by Blanáid May in Ireland, and after being posted, it went viral for the most adorable reasons. It shows these two strange bedfellows reuniting after being apart for a few months and rekindling the love that they had for...
Elephant Ivory Is Still Being Sold Online Despite Being Banned For 11 Years
It was over a decade ago that eBay banned the sale of elephant ivory from its online auction marketplace. According to research that was recently published in the Tropical Conservation Research journal, they may have outlawed the practice but it did little to stop it. Researchers from the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) led the study and wrote a paper on how vendors are using code words to disguise illegal ivory sales. They are offering ivory for sale on eBay but calling it “bone.” If an object has been carved...
