There are over a dozen owl species that call Idaho home, including the Great Horned Owl. The raptors are easy to identify with their long tufts of feathers that resemble ears. Idaho State Police (ISP) received multiple calls from concerned commuters on I-84 in Nampa about a Great Horned Owl trapped in plastic. Dispatchers called wildlife rescue, Animals in Distress, for help and sent Sgt. Brandalyn Crapo to the scene. “Traffic is very heavy on that...

I was working at a barn where someone had dropped off a very teeny and very pregnant cat. She was super sweet but disappeared almost as quickly as she had been dropped off, so we assumed she was somewhere giving birth and hiding her kittens. For a few weeks we would see her off and on, slinking around the barn but never giving up a clue to where the kittens were. KITTENS. PHOTO: ADOBE...

Dan Winkleman was walking down his driveway when he heard a dog barking in the forest behind his house. But these weren’t the carefree barks of a happy pup playing in the woods. I heard it and it was coming from an area where there isn’t a house. Where it’s just woods.” Photo: Pixabay...

101-Year-Old Woman Adopts Shelter’s Oldest Cat To Heal Her Broken Heart
When a 101-year-old woman’s cat passed away, the centenarian, Penny, was understandably devasted. Penny’s family did everything they could to help their beloved matriarch cope with her loss, including presenting the elderly North Carolina woman with a plush toy cat. Screenshot: Facebook/Humane Society of Catawba County But Penny wasn’t consoled by the stuffed animal, which didn’t purr like her beloved late pet. This led Penny’s family to contact the Humane Society of Catawba County (HSCC) in search of an elderly...
