For people who live where it snows, winter weather is just another part of life. But for those who live in more temperate climates, like parts of California, snow can be something new and exciting.

Growing up, my coastal town in the California redwoods rarely experienced snow. We lived close enough to the mountains that we could drive to it, though, and we’d take weekend trips to go skiing or sledding.

One year, I took my dog, Jax, along for a snow trip. It was his first time seeing snow and I had no idea how he’d react! Some dogs are so unsure of the white, cold substance and I was interested to see what his reaction would be like. Much to my surprise, he loved it! As soon as I let him out in the snow, he began running circles and barking gleefully. It was like like love at first sight between my pup and snow.

My dog isn’t the only pup who has that reaction, either. Just take Potato the corgi, for example.

According to ViralHog, Potato recently moved from a snowless town in California to Aurora, Colorado.

When she first saw snow, the sweet pup fell in love and began to run circles! Her excitement and enthusiasm for snow didn’t let up the second time she experienced snow either.

Her owners shared, “She still continues to run circles in the snow, I just don’t record it.”
