November is National Adopt A Senior Pet Month and Stella & Chewy’s, a premium pet food company, is celebrating by covering the adoption fee of shelter pets in USA and Canada. The company has been a longtime supporter and promoter of senior pet adoption, but are taking it a step further by reimbursing the adoption fee to anyone who adopts a senior cat or dog over the age of 7 during the month of November. Florida Firefighters Rescue 40-Year-Old Horse Trapped In Septic Tank
Horses are sure-footed animals but that doesn’t mean they don’t sometimes get into trouble. A 40-year-old horse named Buddy Bear fell into a septic tank in Belleview, Florida, and his owners quickly called 911 for help. Marion County firefighters received the call around 6:30pm and rushed to rescue the senior horse. When they arrived on the scene, only Buddy Bear’s head was above the smelly sludge. The horse was 75% submerged in the septic tank and rescuers were unsure how deep the well was. Photo: Facebook/Marion County...
Watch This Good Dog Grab A Cold One Out Of The Fridge When His Human Asks
It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, and from the looks of this video, it’s just past beer-thirty in the home of a Texas A&M University fan. First posted to Reddit by u/FacelessOnes and titled “Me: Hey bro, can you beer me real quick? Bro: Say no more fam!” the video shows a very good boy helping his human enjoy a cold one. Using a handy knotted rope tied to the refrigerator’s handle, the dog opens the fridge door. Then he grabs a can of his human’s favorite sensible and low-calorie adult beverage from...
Texas Dog Accidentally Shoots Owner In The Leg
Accidents happens, but mishaps can also be avoided when common sense prevails. Police in Plano, Texas, are reminding locals to practice gun safety after a man was shot in the leg by his own dog. “Imagine having your pistol tucked inside your waistband and while picking up your dog, a paw gets lodged in the trigger and fires the weapon, sending a bullet into and through your thigh,” the Plano Texas Police Department wrote on Facebook. “Well, that happened here in Plano.” Photo: Facebook/Plano Texas Police Department The...
Loving Pit Bull Finally Gets Adopted After Woman Moves Into Shelter To Prove He’s A Good Boy
Drools is a rescued pit bull/boxer mix from Colorado. But even though this very good boy loves to snuggle and play, the perfectly adoptable 4-year-old dog endured 2 long years in a shelter, watching everybody but him get adopted. This frustrating situation led rescuer Kacey Widetich, founder and executive director of Relay for Rescue, to stage an intervention on Drools’ behalf. For 12 days, the national rescue advocate lived with Drools in his long-time home at Conour Animal Shelter, where Kacey posted photos and videos about her sweet...
Man Creates Bird Feeder That Trains Magpies To Exchange Trash For Treats
A lot of people don’t give birds enough credit for being intelligent beings. But they are – especially crows and the subspecies of crows. Magpies, who are relatives of the crow, are known to be very smart and trainable. And there is one artificial intelligence researcher, Hans Forsberg, who took an interest in magpies after noticing the magpies in his neighborhood were quite intelligent. This then led Forsberg to begin training the birds to trade pieces of litter in exchange for food. Forsberg invented what he calls the BirdBox....
Wildlife Photographer Captures Dramatic Battle Between A Rattlesnake And A Bobcat
Wildlife photographers are used to capturing all kinds of footage of various wild creatures thanks to motion-activated trail cameras. It’s how they manage to capture incredible photos of wild animals doing things that we might never see for ourselves. For wildlife photographers, such as Robert Martinez, certain moments become mundane in a way as they become used to seeing wildlife on a regular basis. And Martinez, who has been capturing photos and videos of wildlife living in the Los Angeles mountain area for about 8 years, has become...
Guilty Cat Caught Red-Handed Says ‘No’ When His Owner Asks What He’s Doing
Cats all have a “cattitude” that makes them adorable. It also makes them quite mouthy at times. I once had a little Tortie that always had to have the final say. And no matter what you’d tell her, she always had to meow at the end of your sentence. While there are quiet kitties who don’t have a whole lot to say, there are other cats who are very opinionated. There is a TikTok video that shows one feline who doesn’t stop chatting with his owner at all. In fact, this kitty cat’s “conversation” has...
Viral ‘Schrödinger’s Cat’ Photo Has People Confused
We all love a good photo challenge. But there is one picture that is making the rounds on Reddit that really did confuse people. Had it not been for the references I’d previously heard on shows like “The Big Bang Theory” or “Rick and Morty,” I probably would’ve been lost as well. But whose who are familiar with the work of Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger, they’d probably get it right. The photo features a tease of the proverbial Schrödinger’s Cat which was a thought experiment...
